Ordering Request: Reverse Relative Overdueness

Not exactly what it’s doing. Well it is, but it tests that after studying for the day. So it’s not the day that prop:due=0, but it’s the day that the number of due cards is less than your daily review limit. It’s the day you finally get through your backlog, which isn’t arbitrary at all to me. That’s kinda the goal.

If it was testing prop:due=0 at the beginning of the day, I’d agree. Completely arbitrary.

Are you running using the default options though? That wouldn’t create much backlog.

By the way, if you’re interested in this you might also be interested in this: Really thorough statistical analysis of your data

I’m also gonna add the ability to make the cards studied per day resemble your personal study habits. Something simple, like look at what percentage of days I don’t study at all and have that be a probability for studying zero in a day in the sim. Then for days I do study, use a Poisson distribution to mimic the average cards I review.

The sim or real life?

No it’s probably not. I think it’s similar to what CMRR does. Not sure.

Sim… oh god I need to type 5 characters otherwise I can’t post :weary:

No, I haven’t run the new one you asked for with default options yet. I’ve only done the 20 new/80 review limits.

Edit: Running it now with just the few best sorts so it won’t take forever.

:joy: You could quote me and that counts as more characters

Nice! I’ll have to dig into that. I’m much more comfortable with R than python anyway.

Can you also make sure desired retention is 90?

Yup, I’d done that too. Simming now

Don’t forget two tables too. That would be great to do.

edit: okay, two tables won’t be needed here.

Should we make a new thread since we’re mostly talking about the simulations now and not the main topic here?

It would be great if someone created this proposal separately and described well why it is needed.
There are a lot of sorts. And there is still a lot missing.
Those who use "Deck, then… " the actual ones have no choice.

As far as I understand, this proposal has already been accepted. That’s why you’re not bothering anyone. But if you want to use the name of the theme to attract more attention, then you can create a new theme.

I haven’t been too active here until recently, so wasn’t sure if you guys try to keep threads on topic or not. I’m fine just staying here.

Yes, threads should be on-topic. But I guess this is fine?

The advantage of the new topic will be that you can summarize the entire discussion and beautifully arrange it in the topic header (and update it as needed). This is convenient if someone wants to understand what is going on without reading all these hundreds of messages.

Potentially, there can be more new users joining the conversation. That’s a plus.
