I tried using colour fill tool on a text mask and it colours the text instead of the background. I expect it to behave otherwise.
Also, maybe the tool can allow setting both the colours? The text and the background.
If you only allow changing text colour, you’d have to always select a dark colour (because bg is white). If you only allow changing background colour, you’d have to always select a light colour (because text colour is black).
@llama pinging in case you have a fix for this. to restate the issue, in text masks the background colour doesn’t change with the fill colour tool, only the text colours does.
That may make it hard to tap accurately on mobile. And im not sure dae would go for another fill attr. Will wait for more opinions.
Only being able to change the background’s colour is fine too.
But as for the other suggestion: users can be allowed to pick what colour they are trying to change, possibly from an extra setting.
That brings about the inverse of the problem you mentioned earlier:
