When I copy formatted content such as bulleted lists from ChatGPT into a field in Anki for Windows, everything looks correct and remains stable even after editing the note.
However, if I edit that same note in Anki Android, the formatting breaks. The list structure is lost, spacing changes, and the entire layout looks different. After syncing, the broken format also appears in Anki for Windows.
To work around this, I ask ChatGPT to output the text using very simple HTML, with only b tags for emphasis. I then paste that into Anki Android. As long as I do not edit the note in Android afterwards, the formatting remains intact across platforms. But this solution is not ideal and quite inconvenient.
I have attached a screenshot showing how the layout is supposed to look in Anki for Windows. This formatting breaks as soon as I make any change to the field in Anki Android.
Request or question: Can Anki Android preserve basic formatting (especially lists and simple HTML like b tags) more reliably, similar to Anki for Windows? Or is there a recommended method for ensuring consistent formatting across devices?
Thank you for your work on Anki.
Can you show us a sample of the underlying HTML that you’re pasting? Lists aren’t made in HTML in a way that can be duplicated “with only b tags for emphasis,” so nothing that starts formatted that way is going to turn out as a list when displayed on an Anki card.
```
When you paste the HTML here,
you'll need to put 3 backticks above and below it,
so the forum won't process the code.
```
It might also help to see at least a screenshot of how the formatting “breaks” when you edit it in AnkiDroid. If it’s just extra line-breaks, there’s an easy fix for that – Settings > Advanced > disable “Replace newlines with HTML”.

It do not work for me. That is a good solution to solve the issue of this thread, but after that do not work many of my other cards.
Here a fresh note, copy from ChatGPT to Anki Windows. Use Anki Android to change the text. After the storing of the file, will come the issue.
You have to delete the space from the link! =>

Just the text please, as I asked. I won’t be able to tell as much with an already processed and exported deck package. I’m trying to see what the specific text is that you’re getting from the chatbot and pasting into Anki – since that’s what you’re trying to get help with.
If you want to show me what happens – a screenshot, also as I asked.

Thank you for your attempt to help me, but what you’re asking of me is overwhelming.
I did my best to provide data: a screenshot of how it looks, and the original file to work with. I’m not familiar with HTML code or things like that.
