For 4 option answer [again, hard, good, easy], how can i reduce time when it will appear again? Some cards show 10min for again, 1.2month for hard, 2months for good. i know anki has algorithm to reappear whenever it does but since i want to register for this test within 1 month, i want hard, good easy to show up within 1 month for 1 or 2 times before showing over 1 month before the next review. Is this possible? Another option is take test within 2 months but i don’t want to delay.
Maybe this is reason why 4 option answer is spead out past 1 months - in my desk options, daily limit was set to 220 new cards/day and 2200 max review/day. I didn’t study nearly as much, more like 20 new cards every few days. If this is issue, i changed it to 20 new cards/day and 220 max review/day.
I added decks over 6 weeks ago but I didn’t study them. Will this effect if cards show up in 1 month or more than 1 month later? They’re listed under the “new“ column, not “learn“ or “due“? I don’t think so - seems like the timing alogrithm starts after i study it, after opening the deck.
i have FSRS set on, desired retention 85%. Let me know if 85% is too high; if 80% is sufficient, my goal is to pass the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification test. No one knows what the passing score is.
if you recommend SM2, let me know.
FSRS is the right algorithm to use. If you want to see your cards more often, increase your Desired Retention. It will make all of your intervals shorter, so you’ll see cards more often (and your workload will be heavier).
understand thanks.
is there place where i can put my test date and based on that date, cards will show up more often? or set desired retention to 95 or 100%?
There is not. The only thing that you need to think about with regard to your exam date is getting your cards introduce, ideally with ample time to continue studying them after that – Settings for using Anki to prepare for a large exam - Anki FAQs . You don’t need to study all of your cards more frequently leading up to that date, you only need to study the ones you’re struggling with – and the algorithm will take care of scheduling them.
You don’t need to increase your DR as the exam gets closer. Just pick the DR you want now. But 100 is impossible – as in, the setting doesn’t even go to 100 – and 95 is almost certainly more work than it will be worth. [Keep in mind that if you set your DR to have a 90% chance of getting the cards right on the day the card is due, every day before that, you have a higher chance of getting it right.]
From 85% now? I wouldn’t recommend going higher than 90% in one jump – and that’s a huge jump already. Your workload will get much heavier quickly.
How many cards you’re trying to introduce, and at what pace is also something to consider, because if you’re drowning in New cards, you don’t have as much time to do as perfectly on Review cards.
Set your max daily reviews to 9999 (unlimited), and leave it there. You need to know what your actual workload is, and you need to study all of your cards on the day they are due.
