Deckorator – a modern theme with wallpaper backgrounds

Anki Add-ons

Hi everyone!

I made my first add-on, Deckorator. It gives Anki’s deck list, overview and study screen a modern look. I wanted something that looks nice when I open Anki but doesn’t distract me while I’m actually studying.

What it does

  • 8 presets, or your own accent color. It can also take the accent from your system or your desktop wallpaper.
  • Backgrounds: spotlight, dot grid, line grid, grain, waves, your own image, or your desktop wallpaper
  • Calm study mode: the background goes quiet during reviews
  • Bigger review counters and tinted answer buttons
  • Works with Review Heatmap (restyled, colors only, or untouched)
  • Turns off the blur automatically on weak laptops
  • A settings window with a live preview of your own decks and cards

I’ve only tested it on Linux (KDE) so far, so feedback from Windows and macOS users would help a lot. If something looks off, the settings have a “Copy diagnostic report” button. Paste that here or in a GitHub issue.

Thanks for trying it out!
