Anki 24.10 Release candidate

After install 24.11 am not able to open stats. What I tried:

  • turn off all add-ons
  • open in main window / deck window
  • pressing CTRL or SHIFT
Anki 24.11 (97e6b3d3)
Python 3.9.18 Qt 6.6.2 PyQt 6.6.1
Platform: Windows-10-10.0.22631

what about pressing the key T?

No reaction at all.

I have decks with due review cards like this, with Review sort order “Random” in each one:

  • Ordinary deck (no cards directly in it)
    • filtered parent (no cards directly in it)
      • filtered child 1 (hundreds of cards)
    • filtered child 2 (tens of cards)
    • filtered child 3 (hundreds of cards)
    • filtered child 4 (hundreds of cards)

I review from the Ordinary deck.
It seems like I am getting cards not randomly from all decks, but from the last deck I rebuilt.

The display order should be random in the deck you’re clicking to study.

The other decks haven’t run out of most cards when you’re doing that?

No, it changes when I rebuild a deck (the decks have 9999 limits and are limited by prop:d or prop:r).

Sorry for confusion. I have two screens and every time when I tried to open stats window, it was opened on the second screen which I turned off. I cannot believe that this took me so much time to figure out

Hello, started using the RC yesterday and I see in the Card Info that cards go back in Learn mode where they were already in review in the past, is it a new behaviour ? I did a reschedule so it might just be a side effect, but just want ot be sure it’s something known ?

Also seems rescheduled things accounted in my yesterday review number

@L.M.Sherlock, this might be related to Create a new kind of revlog entry for reschedule cards on change by L-M-Sherlock · Pull Request #3508 · ankitects/anki · GitHub. Would you please have a look?

It’s weird. The expected behavior is generating a ton of review logs with reschedule type instead of learn type.

Could you reproduce this problem?

@dae, my guess is the user synced the data with ankiweb and other old client. The reschedule revlog type is invalid, and the fallback type is learn because its index is zero.

I use the FSRS 5.2 beta in custom scheduling. Can I use the FSRS helper or should I wait until a stable version?

The helper add-on doesn’t work with the custom scheduling script.

If you use the add-on, it will schedule the cards according to the DSR values calculated by the built-in FSRS, not according to the DSR values calculated by the custom scheduling script.

I think that 24.11 RC supports fsrs-rs v1.4.3 that implements FSRS 5. That means I could use the native version and not a custom scheduling, thus the helper addon additionally?

Possibly, I have two user on my computer, I upgraded Anki on User 1, then went to User 2 which had the older Anki still running, so it probably uploaded when I closed it to restart it. Now it seems the history looks OK again :

It also seems that the Card History fixed itself in the meanwhile :

(This was my first screenshot of the precent post). So I think it’s OK, it was just some temporary state that sync itself OK once both client were on last version

Yes, the RC has FSRS-5 built-in and you can use the helper add-on with it.

When studying a deck sorted by Descending Retrievability, it seems that cards whose last review entry is “Reschedule” are often shown earlier than cards with higher retrievability. I am not sure whether this is expected.
For example, this card has a Retrievability of 56%, while the cards immediately before and after it both have a Retrievability of 90%. All three cards belong to the same deck and have the same preset.

@L.M.Sherlock

Could you check its retrievability with the helper add-on?

I get similar values:

FSRS: enabled
D: 65%
S: 47.00 days
R: 55.7%

This is a screenshot of the same card that also includes the entire review history:
