Webm files cannot be paused or seeked

Steps to reproduce

Add a .webm file to a basic card. Here is an example (assuming you can download it as a .webm file):

Actual behavior

Using the pause, +5s and -5s buttons/keyboard shortcuts does nothing.

Expected behavior

It should work, just like .ogg files, for example.

I couldn’t download your file, but I had my own to use. Isn’t this because WEBM videos pop-up in their own mpv window that has its own controls? For me, Space and p work for play/pause, and right/left arrows work for jumping forward/backward.

The .webm files I have are generated by asbplayer and they look and function pretty much like mp3s (they show up as a playbutton, they get played automatically, pressing β€œR” replays them, etc).

Here is a drive link to the .webm file:

I was not able to reproduce the probelm on Anki 25.09.2 on Mac.

I downloaded the provided .webm file, added it to a card, and tested it in a filtered deck. The provided .webm audio clip is less than 5 seconds long.

  • Pressing the default Pause Audio key β€œ5” paused and unpaused the audio, as expected.
  • Pressing the default Audio -5s key β€œ6” caused the audio to jump to the beginning, as expected.
  • Pressing the default Audio +5s key β€œ7” caused the audio to jump to the end, as expected.
  • Pressing the default Replay Audio key β€œR” replayed the audio, as expected.
  • The .webm file appeared as normal audio on the card, with a play button. It appeared and behaved just like the .mp3 audio files I add to my cards.
