# UX improvement suggstion - offer to make a backup when user is requesting a full sync from web

There are cases of people working for few hours on their decks and overwriting them from web on their first sync with empty colleciton from their ankiweb account.

A rework of that dialog with option to notify the user that they have local changes and whether they wish to make a backup prior to sync likely resolve quite a few of those issues.

As a bonus, backup might be optionally accompanied by a url link file with instructions on how to restore that backup.

There should already be an automatic backup happening when you choose the download option.
