Unicode alt code input on Linux not working with new launcher

I have an issue when inputting unicode alt codes on Linux (Debian stable with Gnome) when using the new launcher.

When I input CTRL+SHIFT+U, nothing happen and the numbers inputted after are just displayed as such.

This only happens with the new launcher.

I tried downgrading to 25.02.7 with the new launcher, and I cannot input unicode alt codes.

After reinstalling directly 25.02.7, the unicode input is working again. I tried changing the install method a few times to confirm that the problem is related to the new launcher.

I could try to have a look at the problem, but I would need a few pointers regarding where the problem could be coming from.

Can you clarify – are you unable to input alt-codes in the launcher window – or are you unable to input alt-codes in Anki after it has been installed using the launcher?

This seems Qt-related, and that might help illuminate things.

Thank you @Danika_Dakika for your reply.

I cannot input alt-codes in Anki (specifically in the type-answer box) after Anki being installed using the launcher.

Thanks for the pointer towards Qt. I’m unfamiliar with Qt, but I’ll try to see if I can find something.

I’m not able to reproduce this on a fresh Debian 12 install. Ctrl+u shows an underlined u, and if I type 40 and press enter, I get a ‘@’ as expected. Perhaps you have customized your input method from the default?
