# The TTS feature of Anki changed its voice

I don’t know why or how, but the TTS feature of Anki suddenly changed its voice to kind of like a Darth Vader modificated. I don’t use an add-on, I use the settings mentioned in the TTS section of the ankimanual. How can I return to the previous voice?

By “suddenly”, I presume you mean “after I updated macOS”. Maybe the name of the voice has changed, or voices need to be manually installed again?

Yeah, I updated MacOS. Do you know O can change those things you mention to see if that works?
