# Targeting Fields of Current Card Only (Autocopy)

The topic hopes to get more insight on an issue of the addon [AJT Autocopy](https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1995103628) raised [here](https://github.com/Ajatt-Tools/autocopy/issues/1).

AJT Autocopy is an addon that (among other things) simply copies content of a specified field to clipboard when the Front Template of the card shows or Back Template of the card etc.

For notes that have only one card associated with it, this a fairly simple task and the AJT Autocopy works fine. I.e. if `Front` was the field specified in the addon, the content of the `Front` field gets copied when the specified side of the card shows during review.

However, for notes with more than one card it becomes difficult to limit the copying to only fields of the currently showing card.

Say `Front_1` and `Front_2` were fields of the same note belonging to `Card1` and `Card2` respectively. If I wanted `Front_1` to be copied to clipboard when the Front Template of `Card1` shows, I will specify it in the addon and if I wanted `Front_2` to be copied for `Card2` I will also specify it. However, since `Front_1` and `Front_2` belong to the same note, both field gets copied when either `Card1` or `Card2` were being reviewed.

Any thoughts on how the above situation could be handled in the addon will be much appreciated. Thanks already
