# Search field - AnkiMobile 26.10

The search field needs explanation. When you can search it says “Search”. When you are in “syntax mode” it sometimes also says “Search”, but entering a search term here shows no results (but the number of results, here “10 notes”).

Hi @ferophila So to complete a search, hit the “Done” button the right.

I went back and forth about if search should fire after each term entered (more typical, but annoying for complex searches) or if you should affirmatively tell search when you are done. I actually think making this customizable in settings is probably the way to go.

I am really thankful for the ability to switch between entries in search results and that the card row details in this view are customizable.

This is what I mean by “needs explanation”: entering a query and hitting search is the normal behavior, hitting done before needs explanation within the app.
