Hello Anki Team,

My AnkiWeb account is still accessible, but all my decks and cards have disappeared after approximately 6–12 months of inactivity.

**AnkiWeb account email:** [hibird2005jdm@gmail.com](mailto:hibird2005jdm@gmail.com)

Unfortunately, I no longer have access to any device containing my original Anki collection, and I do not have a local backup.

In addition to recovering my decks and cards, I would particularly like to recover my complete study history, including my past review logs, review dates, scheduling information, and study statistics. I used Anki’s calendar-style study history visualization, which shows my study activity across different days, and this history is very important to me.

Could you please check whether any server-side backups of my collection remain available and restore the most recent backup that contains my review history?

If possible, I would appreciate it if the restoration could preserve the review history and scheduling data, rather than restoring only the card contents.

I understand that recovery may not be possible, but I would be extremely grateful for your help in checking.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Best regards

---

I’m looking at the AnkiWeb account connected to the email address you used to post here.

The data was removed from this account because it had been inactive for at least 6 months. We delete the data from accounts in our system that aren’t being used for syncing or studying, so AnkiWeb isn’t suitable for long-term storage of your inactive collection – [AnkiWeb account removal - Anki Docs](https://docs.ankiweb.net/faqs/ankiweb-account-removal) .

Generally when data is removed from an account, that includes the server-side backups. However there is one that was retained in your account – from August 2025. Just like a local automatic backup, that does not include any media attached to your collection – but yes, it does include all of the review history and scheduling information synced with your collection.

_ **If you want me to restore it to your AnkiWeb account, please confirm.** _

Other things you can do right now –

- Make sure the email address you’re using for your AnkiWeb account is one that you have permanent access to. If you lose touch with that email, you won’t get important emails from us – like notification that your data is pending deletion. And if you can’t re-verify your email address annually, you might not be able to access AnkiWeb at all.

- If you know you’re going to take a long break from studying, you can [create your own COLPKG backup](https://docs.ankiweb.net/backups.html#creating-1) of your collection and store that in a separate place (e.g., another device, a cloud storage account). You can do that from [any version of the app](https://apps.ankiweb.net/#downloads), but not from the AnkiWeb site.
