# 🐞 On Anki 2.1.50, computing stats takes way much longer time than on Anki 2.1.49

On Anki 2.1.50, when I open stats by clicking on the Stats button, I can observe the “loading” spinner for some 8-9 seconds before anything is shown. I am aware that there are some issues with web views being slow at the moment, but even recomputing the stats via clicking one of the “deck, collection, last 12 months, all history” radio buttons takes 8.5 seconds (as measured using a stopwatch).

The same on Anki 2.1.49 takes 2.5 seconds, so I suspect some kind of regression took place somewhere. (2.5 seconds is an awful lot still though?)

Windows 10 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1586)  
Anki ⁨2.1.50 (26d40c3a)⁩, Python 3.9.7 Qt 6.2.2 PyQt 6.2.2

I can’t reproduce this - 2.1.52rc1 and 2.1.49 both appear to render the stats of your AnkiWeb collection in approximately the same amount of time for me. If you built Anki from source, did you make sure to do an optimized build? If you’re using the packaged version, do you get the same behaviour in 52rc1? Do you use an antivirus/VPN/proxy program?

I’m using the builds downloaded from the official website. I didn’t see a link to download Anki 2.1.52rc1, but I tried 2.1.51 and it has the same issue. I tried profiling via setting `QTWEBENGINE_REMOTE_DEBUGGING`, but whenever i click on the record button, Anki instantly crashes with no error message.

I have some half a million reviews in total, as reported by stats. Perhaps the issue only manifests itself when you’ve got a lot of reviews?

I was testing with a single deck, but with the entire collection/all history there’s still not much of a difference between them for me. I tested on a Windows machine and don’t see the issue either. I’m afraid I’m not sure what the problem might be, and will need to wait for more people to report it / someone who is affected by it who is willing to dig into the issue.
