Interval calculation higher then expected

Hi all,

i’ve been having issues with card interval calculations.

Most of my cards get a calculated interval (after a review) that is higher (sometimes 2x) than the Stability of the card, but with a desired retention of 93%, I would expect the interval to be lower than DR.

Some cards get an Interval as expected, but most don’t and I haven’t found a reason why some cards get the different calculation…
Things I have tried:

  • starting Anki in Safe mode
  • Tools → Check Database
  • checked all deck options (both main and subdecks)
  • I have no add-ons related to scheduling
  • I sync with AnkiDroid for reviews, but I tested reviewing the same card on the same day on both desktop and droid and both gave the same new (wrong) interval
  • if I reschedule a card with FSRS helper, the Interval get’s set to a value that I expect, but when that cards get reviewed again, the new interval is again more then 2x the stability of the card

As an example, upper screenshot is before (after rescheduling with FSRS helper), lower screenshot is after review, desktop and droid gave the same results.

Does anybody know what’s going on and how I can fix this?

Just in case, the are my FSRS parameter for the specific deck (I re optimize ± every 1-2 months, without rescheduling)

0.2947, 2.5886, 11.7190, 42.4188, 7.1964, 0.8522, 1.8035, 0.0010, 1.4630, 0.2469, 0.9395, 1.9124, 0.1195, 0.2757, 2.0124, 0.2315, 2.9932, 0.5767, 0.8212

Anyone with an idea or where I could find help for this?
keeps happening to a lot of cards.

Based on your FSRS params, it looks like you may be using an older version of Anki or Ankidroid. Can you update to Anki 25.07 or later and see if this still happens?

Have you been using the “Ignore cards reviewed before” setting in the advanced FSRS options?

Thank you for the reply.

I am on Anki 25.09.2 and Ankidroid 2.23.3, I normally update to latest version as soon as I see it.

Ignore cards parameter is at 01/01/1970, so that means not in use i guess.
