# Importing problem

My friend shared a deck that I’m trying to import but it keeps saying “0 notes in this file”

Hi, are you trying to import an `apkg` file? Please check this section of the [Anki Manual](https://docs.ankiweb.net/#/importing?id=importing)

Maybe the file really is empty? Please ask your friend to use File\>Switch Profile to create an empty profile, and then they can try importing it themselves.
