I’ve tried using this algorithm twice but failed each time. Last time my 1st good review was rated 4.5 month 🙂

Could you share the parameters that you used? And the true retention in your past review.

Retention 90%
[4.7107, 7.036, 135.0907, 135.0907, 4.8477, 0.1862, 0.7813, 0.2704, 1.4758, 0.5463, 0.948, 2.3465, 0.0316, 0.4232, 1.7249, 0.227, 2.7415]

135 is something I wasn’t expecting
(Note: I used the hugging face website and couldn’t use the helper add on to reschedule all my cards, I don’t have any laptop)

I guess you real retention is very high, maybe larger than 95%.

Then the frequency shouldn’t be less?
I don’t know what’s wrong with my cards, but I really want to use fsrs
What should I do ?

When did you generate these parameters? The last important update to the optimizer was on August 14.

If re-generating the parameters today solves the problem for you, then fine. Otherwise, you can create an issue on GitHub: [Sign in to GitHub · GitHub](https://github.com/open-spaced-repetition/fsrs4anki/issues/new?assignees=&labels=bug&projects=&template=bug_report.md&title=%5BBUG%5D)

Creating an issue there would help in faster resolution of your problem.

Is it possible to filter out certain reviews that the users specifies based on criteria such as rating and review platform?

I am asking [because Ankiweb doesn’t have a bury, suspend or skip feature. I worry that this will mess up FSRS in cases like this example](https://forums.ankiweb.net/t/suspending-burying-cards-in-the-ankiweb-interface/16173):

> Case: There are times of the day where a user can only study via [Account Login - AnkiWeb](https://ankiuser.net/study/). They have listening cards with only audio on the front side. At their study location, they cannot listen to the audio.

> Problem: They are forced to give a rating without having conducted an actual review.

I don’t know. You should ask @dae.

It is not possible to filter by platform. You’ll need to put them in a separate deck and avoid that deck, or use one of the mobile clients instead of AnkiWeb.

</div>

If a learning step being longer than one day is bad because FSRS can’t see when the review happens, are steps like 23h that will be due on the next day also bad for it? What about short steps, but which I reviewed when they were long overdue?
Does having long steps in the revlog over the years affect rescheduling significantly now? What about the “Next day starts at” setting? I changed it many, many times.

</div>

Yeah, it’s bad if you only use the custom scheduling. But the helper add-on or the built-in FSRS in 23.10 could deal with it correctly.

老哥。
ankidroid（版本2.16.5）和ankimobil（版本20096.3）使用了相同的的fsrs设置信息。
为什么在两个平台，给出的评论间隔日期不一样？
😇

Hi there. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the information here and on GitHub. Hope it will be made simpler when 23.10 is released. Thanks a lot in any case for your work and dedication, Sherlock.

In any case, I wanted to ask, how does “[low-key Anki](https://refold.la/roadmap/stage-1/a/anki-setup)” interact with FSRS? If I understand correctly, setting most parameters (ease factor, starting ease, etc.) as specified in low-key Anki becomes irrelevant. But what about only using “Again” and “Good”? Would that still make sense, or is it better to use all four options?

I create some decks for groups of language students and I don’t want to drive them too crazy with deck options or tapping only specific buttons, etc. if possible (many of these students are not especially tech savvy and virtually none of them know of Anki beforehand).

As I see it, FSRS in 23.10 will need less (or even no?) tinkering with the decks options once FSRS is enabled?

Do any of you have any specially recommended settings for language studying with FSRS or are all defaults good enough?

Yeah, it still makes sense to only use “Again” and “Good” with FSRS.

FSRS only requires you to click `optimize` to get the best parameters for your deck and input your desired retention. But you still need to input the new card limit to control your learning process.

</div>

Sure, I’ll tell them about new card limits (I think I can actually export them with the decks I give them so they don’t need to modify anything, just import and start reviewing).

Regarding retention rate, for someone who hasn’t used Anki before, what would the recommended starting point be? What is the default set to? If it’s reasonable, I don’t think they need to worry about it. If a retention rate has to be manually set for each user, I’d better give them a specific number.

Given that they haven’t used Anki before I don’t think they need to worry about optimize yet. Probably most of them won’t stick to using Anki, so I’ll keep that info out of the explanation until another time.

非常感谢！
