# How to delete Added Fields

I’ve always used pre-made decks but I wanted to make my own card, and in the midst of doing so (I had no idea what I was doing) I added Text Fields and it applied to all my existing cards, showing the entire text of the cards on the front page.

Does anyone know how to delete this setting? Thank you very much.

If you don’t want the text to show on your card, then go to the templates editor and remove the field from there (in front or back, where you insert javascript code). If you truly want to delete the field itself, then go to `tools > manage note types` and choose your note type, then press the _fields_ button and remove the field from there.

This will obviously affect all cards that use that note type.
