Help! After update trouble synching

I use both my computer and the app on my iphone to use my anki cards. I just installed the new update (2.1.29) and have been having major issues with it in regards to syncing. When I try to synch my computer it says “Please use the Check Database function, then sync again. If problems persist, please use a full sync in the preference screen.”
I have tried the Check Database function, I have tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling, but this problem remains. Any suggestions?

Did you use the full sync option (The one labeled On next sync, force changes in one direction) in the preferences as the message suggests?
