I have an anki web account and I am trying to resync my desktop application. When I hit resync it prompts me to login to my ankiweb account but when I type in my username and password, it says processing and then an error message pops up saying A network error occurred: error sending request for url (). I have tried uninstalling the anki app and reinstalling but the same issue occurs. I have triple checked that I am logging in with the right username and password. Thank you.
That usually means that something on your device is preventing connection to AnkiWeb for syncing. Start by checking these things – Error establishing a secure connection when syncing - Anki FAQs . Since you’re a Mac user, don’t overlook things like iCloud Private Relay, which is basically a VPN.
Hello, the verification code works successfully on the AnkiWeb website, but I cannot get Anki to work in the Anki app. The app does not seem to accept or connect to my AnkiWeb account. Please help me fix this issue as soon as possible. Thank you.
If you are seeing the same error message as the original poster, this isn’t an Anki app problem. Instead, it is a network connection problem on your computer that is occurring when the app tries to connect to the Anki servers.
Please read the information in the link that was posted and check the things mentioned in it.
If you require additional assistance, after checking the things in the link, please provide additional background information:
- What model of computer are you using?
- What is the version of OS currently installed?
- What version of Anki are you using?
- Could you please confirm, you are seeing the same “error sending request for url ()” message as the original poster, correct?
If your OS version isn’t up to date, you might want to consider updating it to the latest version available. (In the past, doing so has helped some people experiencing network issues.)
