Would it be possible to add an optional description field to filtered decks?

I used to create filtered decks using specific Card IDs for targeted reviews. Since filtered decks don’t have a description field, I have to keep the Card IDs and their corresponding questions separately in Google Docs or Notepad.

I understand that filtered decks are intended to be temporary, so a description field might not be necessary for everyone. However, having a description field where I can list Card IDs alongside their corresponding questions would make it easier to reference the cards without having to maintain a separate document.

Thank you for considering this feature request!

There’s probably a better way of doing what you’re doing. For example, by using tags.

Hi @ZornHadNoChoice
I’ve tried using tags, but they tend to get messy, especially if I’m not able to maintain them regularly. I’ll end up with a lot of tags and eventually forget why I even created some of them.

For my use case, I just want to have one centralized place where I can put all the information about my filtered decks, which is the description textbox. For example, sometimes I forget why I created a particular filtered deck, especially if I haven’t touched it for a few days. By just looking at the description, I can easily remember what it’s for and the details behind it.

One example is when I extract the card IDs along with their questions, since there’s no option in Browse to display the card IDs. I can put that information in the description so I can easily refer back to it later.

Since I can just delete filtered decks after using them, I don’t have to manage the tags at the same time.

I was able to resolve this for my own use by creating a custom solution. Sharing it here in case it’s useful to anyone else who has the same need:
