# Deck Override for Cloze note types

Hello,

I’m using the latest Anki version (26.05).

**Basic** note types have a convenient option “Deck Override”:

But **Cloze** note types don’t have it:

Is it a bug? Should I create a GitHub issue?

I don’t think that’s a bug. [Deck Override](https://docs.ankiweb.net/templates/intro.html) is used for assigning separate card types to different decks. But Cloze note types only have one card type.

Yes. But all Cloze cards automatically go to the “Default” deck.

So, I should not forget to choose a correct deck in the “Add” dialog. I often forget do this.

Is it possible to specify another default deck for a Cloze card type?

Yes. Check what you have set for `Preferences > Editing > Default deck` – [Preferences - Anki Manual](https://docs.ankiweb.net/preferences.html#editing-1) .
