Cursor jumps backward when typing in Anki (Windows 11)

I am learning Spanish and have Anki set to the Spanish language. In Windows 11 Language and Region settings, my preferred languages are English (United States) at the top and Spanish (Latin America) next. Under Options for Spanish, I have the Spanish QWERTY keyboard selected.

My problem is that whenever I type an answer in Spanish in Anki, and only in Anki, the cursor moves with the letters, then jumps back one or two positions and rewrites the same letters. This is incredibly annoying and slows me down when typing. The backward jumping occurs only in Anki, not in any other apps. When I type in Spanish in Notepad, different web browsers, etc., there is no backward jumping. I changed Anki’s interface language from Spanish to English, but that did not help.

  1. This doesn’t happen with the english layout?
  2. Did you do Troubleshooting - Anki Manual?

  1. No, happens both in English and Spanish.
  2. Perfect, found the solution! It was quite surprisingly #6 Change the Video Driver! I recently completely rebuilt my computer with new motherboard, chip, and Nvidia Graphics card, GEFORCe RTX 5060 Ti. When I changed Video Driver under Anki Preferences from the default Direct 3d to Software, the cursor jumping error and some other funky random text entry box color changes in the edit window that I hadn’t mentioned, all stopped. Text entry is normal now.
  3. I did do all the restarts, safe mode with shift on start-up to check add-ons, updated to lastest Anki version, database rebuild, window-resizing, with no effect. I didn’t see how Changing the Video Driver could possible affect text entry, so it was the last thing I did out of desperation. Go figure.
  4. Muchas gracias. ¡Abrazos y besos!
