In Anki 25.05 Beta 1 and Anki 25.05 Beta 2, the situation remains unresolved. The update log for version 25.02.4 states: ‘Use an alternative approach for securing the editor, which should be less disruptive, and causes no permanent changes.’ So I think it is possible that future versions of Anki may no longer permit add-ons to modify the editor to implement certain features.I think this is unfortunate news.
Yes, but add-on authors might be able to find and implement workarounds.
I plan on contributing a fix soon.

someone please tell me there is a solution for the closet add on not working with the new anki update. ever since the 25.02.5 update it doesn’t work any longer along side with other bugs
I worked on some fixes for Closet but ended up forking the add-on and integrating it in the AnKing Note Types add-on, as we didn’t get a repsonse from Henrik. We only tested the image occlusion feature though.

ANKINGMED replied and told me to just update the anking note type add on !! He says it doesn’t need the closet add on anymore. I updated my anking add on and it worked !!!

Hi. I have been using closet-r image occlusion for quite a while now. For some reaso, while my previously created cards are working, I no longer see the ‘box-in-a-box” button when trying to create new cards with image occlusion. I read from other forums that this add-on is not supported by newer versions of Anki so I downgraded to Version 2.1.36. Still not working.
