# Choosing default note type

I use basic and image occlusion note types daily. However, I use the basic note types far more often than the image occlusion ones.

Everytime I want to add new cards, Anki selects the image occlusion note types by default, and I would have to select the basic note type each time.

Is it possible to be able to select our preferred note type, so that it is automatically ready each time we add cards?

The default notetype when you open that screen is the one that was used when you last added a card to the current deck.
