Changing decks daily limits

Hello everyone.

I had a deck, and I was adding 20 new cards every day, and my Maximum reviews/day was 200.

Everything was good until, after a while, I faced too many reviews. So I just changed the New cards/day to 10 and also Maximum reviews/day to 100.

From that point, it didn’t show me my newly added (new) cards. I searched, and it turned out that by enabling New cards ignore review limit it will be shown again, and the reason was apparently that my review limit has been reached. My questions are: 1. Why? 2. How can I make that limit go away? (I can see I have 271 cards available for review (besides my 100 cards today). So the only option for me is to sit down and review all of that? Is that the only option? It seems by passing time it just keeps being fuller and fuller (yesterday it was around 165 although I have finished yesterday’s review (the 100 completely) and today is that number …)

Also, what is the correct approach for changing a deck’s review limits that have already been set?

1. Why?

Because you set too low a max daily review limit. You asked Anki to hide any cards from you over that limit. But if you don’t have time to study the Review cards that are already due, you don’t have time to introduce more New cards, which will just turn into more Review cards.

2. How can I make that limit go away?

Set it to “9999” – as close as you can get to unlimited – and Anki will show you all of your due cards every day. That’s what you want.

No. You’ve got a backlog of overdue cards, but you don’t have to fix that all in one day. I recommend a Catch-up deck to control your pace catching up.

Change it in Options (the 3rd screenshot) – for “Preset” or “This Deck.”
