How to change default folder where anki backups are stored? Right now they are saved on the device only I would like to have the backups in my icloud.
I don’t think there’s any way to change that folder. Automatic backups are meant to be saved just on that local device.
If iOS has a way to sync that file to cloud storage, try that. Otherwise –
- You can copy as many recent backup files as you want to your iCloud (but you’ll probably want to clean-up old ones periodically).
- If you keep your device synced with AnkiWeb, that’s another off-device copy of your collection.
- If you sync your desktop Anki regularly too, it will have both a current copy of your collection, and it’s own set of periodic automatic backups.

It’s correct that the folder can’t be changed, but it should be backed up already: Phone in Recovery Mode - Way to Recover Deck Data Before Reset? - #5 by dae
