Until 2/3/26, I’ve been able to use my MX Master 3 with Logi Options+ to assign custom keybindings to various mouse buttons (e.g., I use the forward and back mouse buttons to navigate to the previous or next card in the Browser).
re: the correct application to add to Logi Options+ for custom keybindings,
Task Manager says that Anki runs via the regular anki.exe, but I found that the reason is because instead of the anki.exe file, the file that Windows considers as Anki is now “…\AppData\Local\AnkiProgramFiles\python\cpython-3.13.5-windows-x86_64-none\pythonw.exe”
However, as of 2/3/26, I’m no longer able to use my custom mouse button keybindings with Anki. At the time, I had been using Version 25.07.5 of Anki. My Logi Options+ was/is up to date.
None of my assigned keybindings in Logi Options+ are working in Anki (particularly the browser), and curiously, the “gestures” button on my mouse now closes the Browser window (my global keybinding I have set in Logi Options+ for the “gestures” mouse button is Win + Tab, which normally shouldn’t close the Browser window).
I’m not able to reproduce this in a similar setup –
Logitech Options (not “Options+”) version 10.26.14 [Marathon mouse, if it matters]
Anki version 25.09.2
Windows 11
When I select Python as the app, specific keybindings work for me on the study screen. [Just did a quick sanity check.]
There are obviously some differences there though. Perhaps those will point you in the direction of what might be causing the issue.
What I can tell you is that nothing changed in Anki version 25.07.5 on/around Feb 3. So it seems unlikely that this is something that could have been caused by – or could be fixed from – Anki’s side of things.
sorry I wasn’t trying to ask for personal info. I was asking about the file path within the Anki folder, because I just want to make sure I’m in the right folder and choosing the correct application. I’m currently using (and had successfully used in the past) “pythonw” located in the file path in the screenshot below.
I didn’t mean it was too personal – it’s just not in my display!
I’m not picking it from File Explorer with a path, I’m just choosing it from the list of available/installed apps in the Logitech app.
If you don’t see that main list of apps and you don’t know which one to pick, have you looked in Task Manager to see which one is running when you run Anki?
I have, I had been using “\AppData\Local\AnkiProgramFiles\python\cpython-3.13.5-windows-x86_64-none\pythonw.exe” without issue for a while until recently.
Although, after seeing your post and testing it out again, it seems to be resolved today after my Logi Options+ was updated (currently v2.0.840907).
