# Cannot delete profile

I am trying to delete a profile but an error message pops up. I tried searching Google and on the Anki Forums, but couldn’t find any answers. I also followed the steps on the “when problems occur” page, but the error message still comes up. What should I do? Here’s the error:

On a Mac, Disk Utility’s First Aid option may help.

@abdo Thank you for the links, but I do not have a Windows computer so those commands in the [faqs.ankiweb.net](http://faqs.ankiweb.net) link do not work for me. I’m running macOS Big Sur 11.0.1. I did check and I have full permissions for read & write of the Anki profile. I am still getting the error that I do not have permission though when I try to delete the profile.
@dae I ran First Aid, but tried to delete the profile again and it still came up with the same error.
Thanks for the ideas though!

It seems like you don’t have permission to remove one of the files in your profile, or something is wrong with your recycling bin. You may be able to manually remove your profile folder: [https://docs.ankiweb.net/#/files?id=file-locations](https://docs.ankiweb.net/#/files?id=file-locations)
