# Bold text messed up

Since the new anki version, the bold/coloured/cursive texts are messed up. Instead of showing the world in bold, anki shows just single letters in bold (same with colours or cursive).

It’s in my add ons but deactivated…I just deleted it and the problem still arises

The add-on actually can still have effect even after you completely uninstall it, because it adds a script to your templates. Quoting from the add-on’s page:

> \*To disable this add-on’s function, you need to disable it on each note type in the add-on config. Toggling the add-on off alone will not turn off the bionic reading formatting!
