# Better deck picker screen

### Requested features

In [Tasks.org](https://github.com/tasks/tasks?tab=readme-ov-file) when you long press on a task, it selects it and shows some options at the top. You can then drag and drop the task to make it a subtask of another task, or select more tasks by just tapping and perform actions on them.

As you can see, their implementation is a bit clunky, but the idea is perfect imo.

### AnkiDroid’s current state

1. You can’t delete, export or create a shortcut to multiple decks at once.
2. You have to rename “child” to “parent::child” to make it a subdeck of “parent” OR create a new subdeck, move all the cards and delete “child”.
3. Too many options shown at once:

In a [GitHub issue](https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/issues/14544) there was an attempt to do this and they ended up with a [PR](https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/pull/16542) that never got off the ground.

The questions raised in that PR shouldn’t be a problem if we follow [Tasks.org](https://github.com/tasks/tasks?tab=readme-ov-file)’s design (the options would appear at the top).
