# Auto Advance Toggle Keyboard Shortcut

Hi all,

I have tried to find information regarding a keyboard shortcut to toggle auto advance on Anki Windows.

I saw that there is a GitHub suggestion, but the string is closed.

In the review window, when I click more, it shows a shortcut for Auto Advance as “Shift A”, however, this does not seem to work for me.

Are there any add ons or settings I can adjust that will allow for shortcut toggle auto advance?

Usually when a shortcut isn’t working, it’s because something else is stealing it.

1. Have you run in [safe mode](https://docs.ankiweb.net/troubleshooting.html) to make sure another add-on isn’t redirecting that shortcut?
2. Do you have any external 3rd-party apps running on your system that might be changing keybinds/shortcuts?
3. Are you using a keyboard language/layout other than English/International-QWERTY?
4. Just to make sure – do you have Auto Advance enabled in the Deck Options for the specific subdeck those cards are in? [Deck Options - Anki Manual](https://docs.ankiweb.net/deck-options.html#auto-advance)

Using your advice, I figured that the Amboss plug in was redirecting the Shift+A. I changed the binding in the Amboss settings and its working perfectly now.
