# Audio Issue in Anki Desktop

Hi, I just discovered Anki, and I have been playing around with it! It’s been fun so far; however, I downloaded a few shared decks and tried to play the audio, but it isn’t working, and it says: “Sound and video on cards will not function until mpv or mplayer is installed.”

Does anyone know how to fix it? I’m on a Mac, the software is anki-26.08.1.

There’s an issue affecting macOS 13: [mpv is broken on macOS 13 · Issue #5040 · ankitects/anki · GitHub](https://github.com/ankitects/anki/issues/5040)

You can try the workaround here for now until the issue is fixed:

Thanks, I also discovered other methor, uploaded the shared decks form the desktop app, then upload it to the web, it also worked.
