# ANTRA (Beta) – a calm study dashboard for Anki

**BETA VERSION.** ANTRA changes nothing in your decks unless you switch an option on, but please keep a backup. It is provided as it is, without warranty.

Needs Anki 26.09.3 or newer. Free and open source (AGPL-3.0-or-later). English and German.

## Why I built it

I study a large, structured course in Anki: dozens of topics, each with its own sub-decks. Anki’s flat deck list is fine for a few decks, but with many topics I lost track of what is due today, how long it will take, and which subject is falling behind. ANTRA replaces the deck list with one quiet dark page that answers those questions at a glance. Your decks stay exactly where they are, and there is nothing to import or convert.

## What it does

- **Today at a glance:** workload with an estimated study time, progress, difficult and overdue cards, a weekly overview and an activity map.
- **Your subjects as a tree:** subject, section, topic, sub-deck, which you can open and close. The Organise editor lets you set the order, give things display names and colours, and include decks from anywhere in your collection.
- **Everything the normal deck list does:** rename, options, export and delete on every deck.
- **A quick start:** an optional “what do you want to study today?” question when Anki opens.
- **A calm look:** a dark theme for Anki’s own screens and, if you like, for your cards, with one colour per subject.
- **Optional extras, each undoable:** a fixed card order, and a folder for cards you keep failing. They come back after you answer them correctly three times in a row.

## Safe by default

ANTRA only reads your collection until you switch something on. It never edits or deletes your notes, tags, media, card content or review history, and it sends nothing anywhere. The options that do change something record the originals and have an undo (_Restore original deck options_, _Reset folder_, _Remove card theme_).

If Anki shows graphics glitches or crashes, open Tools → ANTRA → Settings and untick _Apply the ANTRA look to Anki’s own screens_, then tell me what happened here.

## What I need from you

This is a first beta, tested on macOS only. I would especially like to hear:

1. Does it work on Windows and Linux?
2. Does it work with your own decks, especially large ones with many sub-decks?
3. What is missing, confusing or broken?

Please reply here with your Anki version, your operating system, and what you did when the problem appeared. Screenshots help a lot.
