# AnkiRestart🔂\[Support Thread\]

Hi! First, thank you for the add-on. It’s one of my favorites 🙂 .

Using Anki Version ⁨24.10 (85f034b1)⁩  
Python 3.9.18 Qt 6.6.2 PyQt 6.6.1

If I have the “Anki Restart” add-on active, I get this error message whenever I download or update an add-on. This issue only seems to occur with the current and previous 24.10 beta versions. I wasn’t able to reproduce it using Anki 24.06.3 qt6 for Windows.

Very useful addon! Thank you!  
Pity I found it just today.

After a short usage I’d request improving Browser support if it’s technically possible.  
It’ll give better experience when a developer is testing something in the Browser (doesn’t need to switch to the Main Window to click the button and then click Browser button after restart):

1. Make the hotkey working in Browser.
2. Add restart button to Browser.
3. If button or hotkey was activated from Browser, the Browser is opened automatically after restart.

I developed a new version of AnkiRestart and uploaded it to AnkiWeb.  
[🔂AnkiRestart V2 - Quick Anki Rebooter (Created by Shigeඞ)](https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1766024579)

- This is an improved beta version of the old AnkiRestart, it use only the add-on to restart, not external files.
- This V2 is a new prototype developed for some users who are not able to restart, so if old V1 is already working fine on your device you can use either add-on. (add-on code is different so it will not be auto updated.)
