AnkiMobile 26.10 is now rolling out on the App Store as a phased release: over the next several days it will gradually reach your devices. This release brings a complete redesign of the Browse screen, a refreshed deck list, and a long list of other fixes. A big thank you to everyone who built it, and especially to Ian, who led the work on this release. And to everyone who tested the betas: your feedback made it much better.
What’s new
Browse, redesigned
- Faster, more precise search. Type queries directly in syntax mode, or build them visually with filter chips. Saved and recent searches get you back to previous results in one tap.
- Rebuilt card rows. Flags and marks are clearer at a glance, and rows support customizable swipe and tap actions. Tapping a card now opens Preview by default (you can change this).
- Sort and view. Sort by any field, and switch between Card and Note view with one tap. A live result count updates as you search.
- Bulk actions. Select multiple cards for Suspend, Bury, Flag, Tag, Move and Delete, with Select All. Any action can be undone from a quick Undo pill.
- Updated Browse options and consistent icons throughout.
Deck list
- See your workload at a glance. Each deck shows its New, Learning, Review and Total counts, as on desktop. Prefer a simpler view? Display options include a label-free Compact mode.
- Clearer sync status. The sync icon now shows when a sync is pending or needs attention.
- Refreshed icons, spacing and typography across Decks, Stats and Study Options.
Also in this update
- Notifications is now its own section in Preferences, with New, Learning and Review toggles for the app icon badge.
- Fixed the editor toolbar clipping tools. It now scrolls, and long-pressing Cloze shows a labeled Next/Same menu.
- Fixed Browse preview showing a blank screen after editing a card, and the flip control not returning to the question side.
- Fixed several clipped labels and alerts.
- The per-app language setting is now respected.
- The sync conflict dialog matches desktop.

Complete Changelog 26.10
Browse screen — complete redesign:
- New search experience. A redesigned search panel makes finding cards faster and more precise: type queries directly with the new syntax mode, build searches visually using expression/filter chips, and jump back into previous searches with saved/recent search support.
- Card rows, rebuilt. Every row in the list has been redesigned — flags and marks are clearer at a glance, metadata display remains fully customizable, and the whole row now supports gesture-based actions (swipe/tap) that you can customize to your workflow. By default, tapping a card now opens it in Preview rather than jumping straight to editing — also customizable.
- Sorting and view mode. Sort your results by any relevant field via the new sort control, and switch between Card view and Note view with a single tap.
- Live result count. The list now shows a running count of matching cards/notes as you search, right alongside sorting and view controls.
- A clear, helpful empty state when a search comes up empty.
- Smarter bulk actions. Selecting multiple cards now surfaces a dedicated action bar (Suspend, Flag, Tag, Move, Delete) with a fast “Select All,” and your selection is preserved across actions. Any bulk action can be undone instantly via a quick Undo pill.
- Toggle Bury on card rows. Bury or unbury from long-press, swipe, or the bulk bar; Suspend and Bury stay mutually exclusive, and Notes mode hides card-level bulk ops while keeping Tag and Delete where they belong.
- Bulk action bar updates in place for VoiceOver, so accessibility focus is not lost after each action.
- Search panel stays scrollable above the onscreen keyboard.
- Options, brought up to date. The Browse options screen has been reworked to match the redesign end-to-end, including the same customizable metadata display introduced in the new card rows.
- More consistent iconography throughout Browse, so actions and states are easier to recognize at a glance.
Deck list:
- See your workload at a glance. Each deck now shows a summary of new, learning, and review, and total counts right in the list, matching the desktop UI, along with labels to indicate what each number means.
- Prefer a more compact view? Deck List > Display options now offer a Compact mode with stacked, label free counts.
- Clearer sync status. The sync icon now reflects state at a glance, with a distinct look when a sync is pending or something needs attention.
- Consistent iconography. Deck list icons have moved to the same icon system used throughout the rest of the redesign, for a more unified look.
- Visual polish. Cleaner spacing and typography across Decks, Stats, and Study Options bring them in line with the new Browse design, including deck-row layout and VoiceOver alignment for totals, chevrons, and empty/zero counts.
Other fixes:
- Notifications is now a top-level Preferences section, with New/Learning/Review toggles controlling what the app icon badge counts.
- Toggling badge inclusion no longer shows a Background App Refresh alert.
- Fixed the editor formatting toolbar clipping tools on iPhone under iOS 26 — the bar now scrolls horizontally, and long-press cloze shows a labeled Next/Same menu.
- Fixed facet search lists (decks, tags, etc.) not scrolling fully when the software keyboard is up.
- Fixed the Cards/Notes mode pill flickering when changing sort.
- Fixed clipped text in the “Background App Refresh” permission alert.
- Fixed clipped card-template tab labels on floating iOS tab bars.
- Fixed layout padding on the Congrats screen.

- Improved VoiceOver focus on the Decks sync control.
- Sync conflict dialog matches desktop copy and layout.
