Anki stops syncing and crashes when phone switches from portrait to landscape mid-sync

Title. If I am in the middle of syncing Anki on my mobile device and I switch from portrait to landscape, the app always stops syncing, freezes my phone entirely, and eventually crashes. This can be replicated 100% of the time on my iphone.
