Anki Not Filling Half Screen; Glitching

The Flathub version of Anki does not properly fill half the screen when I want it to. It leaves a gap. I don’t know if the screenshot I uploaded shows this, but, for example, the text editor will fill half the screen on the right, but the Anki app will fill about a quarter of the screen on the left.

The problem is temporarily fixed by closing and reopening the app, but the other issue persists: the glitching. I’ll finish a card, show the answer, and when I try to continue to the next card, the card will temporarily glitch back to the answer screen of the previous card. It happens frequently, and it happens wherever I put the mouse over the app.

I’m using Fedora 41 on The HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ap0xxx.

For the visual glitches – Troubleshooting Checklist #6 video drivers – Troubleshooting - Anki Manual .

For the window-size issues – I’ll leave you to the Linux folks for responses on that. About the only thing you can do from inside Anki is reset window sizes (also on the Troubleshooting Checklist).

Hi Danika,

I’m relatively new to Linux, so I didn’t really know about drivers and stuff. I figured it out though. The solution was to change the driver from OpenGL to System to fix the glitching. For the half screen problem, I switched to Debian.

Thank you!
