1. I like the globe symbol, but I’m afraid it’s not 100% obvious that it means that this setting is applied globally. I think it would be nice if when the user hovers their mouse over the globe, it would say “Affects the entire collection.”.

2. “Optimize All Presets” is too easy to miss. I **highly** recommend moving it under “Optimize FSRS parameters”.

I agree. Can we also add an option to see which presets are used by which decks ? 🙂

Oh, not again. I have an idea why that’s happening. Does it work if you click somewhere on the card text after enabling auto advance from the menu?

Can’t reproduce this part.

If I **click** on More \> Autoadvance and wait, autoadvance works for the first card and then stops working, as shown in the previous GIF.
If I click on More \> Autoadvance, and then click anywhere, the autoadvance gets deactivated and doesn’t work at all (even for the first card)

Does that make sense?

@dae “Evaluate” is bugged - it uses all reviews, not just reviews from the selected preset. It works properly if I manually type the preset name, but I assume that it’s intended to fetch the preset name without the user manually typing it. Since “Optimize” uses reviews from the selected preset, it makes sense that “Evaluate” should too, but currently that’s not the case.

Version ⁨23.12 (97f43fbd)⁩
Python 3.9.15 Qt 6.6.1 PyQt 6.6.1
No add-ons.
Does not occur on beta 1.

When pasting text from e.g. Wikipedia, Anki strips less HTML than it used to, and also adds a lot of HTML that is absent in the original text. Also, you cannot press shift key when pasting to strip formatting.

- 23.12 beta2:

- Pasting the same text on 23.12 beta1 (expected behavior):

- Original HTML (from [Lorem ipsum - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorem_ipsum))

```auto
This also happens when copy-pasting text from the Reviewer to the Editor, e.g.
Also: `Prefer image pastes over HTML in the editor` seems a bit too aggressive? (at least, I surmise that what I’m about to describe is due to this change)
This feature is great since it allows to paste images from sources that used to deny access.
But now every image that is pasted from the web is automatically renamed to a random string, and any attribute it might have is removed. This is really disadvantageous, for example, when dealing with Wikipedia images, which almost always have very descriptive names and alt attributes.
In general, this change seems to make it more difficult to keep the collection well-organized and to search for images in the Browser.
E.g., same image pasted with 23.12 beta 1 and beta2:
 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex002/uploads/anki2/original/3X/a/7/a7cb0fe777aa2a9185881ed9171433090dd7d05f.jpeg)
(also: maybe it’s just me, but the color of the second image looks slightly different? despite both being from the same source)
IMHO, it would be best if this behavior was applied only in cases where an image couldn’t otherwise be pasted due to access denial or similar errors, and continue using the old behavior in all other instances.
I’m using Windows 10 home 22h2 (64 bit) and Chrome 120.0.6099.71 (official build, 64 bit).
Also seem to be able to reproduce this using Microsoft Edge 120.0.2210.61 (official build, 64 bit).
Some more examples:
(you may notice that Anki was not able to fetch the second image on the left in the bottom row and instead included the link as the src attribute. Anki did not notify me about this. This happened only once and I was never able to reproduce this, even when pasting again from the same source)
I’ve reverted the change for now, as it was causing both of the above issues.
We could potentially fall back on a provided image if fetching an image fails, though it would be a more involved change, as the downloading happens later, after the image/link decision has already been made.
Any change that syncs, including the current deck selection, will cause that.
In connection with this, 23.12beta2 pastes in some HTML even if the Shift key is held down, and also even if Tools / Preferences / Editing has the “Paste without shift key strips formatting” box checked. For instance when copy-pasting a single boldface word from an online dictionary.
So if this functionality is revived in the future in some form (perhaps opt-in), that should probably be addressed.
After this change, the “Collection” option in the Stats page seems to be redundant. The user can simply type “deck:\*” in the search box to get the same result. Though, clicking a button is faster than typing it.
“The more data, the better”. It’s only possible when explicitly including the entire collection, as revlogs from deleted cards can’t be associated with a deck/preset.
I don’t think actions that close the dialog belong inside the advanced options, but I can add mention of the top button there.
This is handled in fsrs-rs, so you could submit a PR there if @L.M.Sherlock approves
I don’t think many translators are in the habit of reviewing suggestions. You could try to find an active German translator on [Commits · ankitects/anki-core-i18n · GitHub](https://github.com/ankitects/anki-core-i18n/commits/main/) and give them a nudge.
I am still on 23.10.1, but I found a bug that probably has not yet been fixed and is too minor to create a new post for:
In the Reviews section of the Stats, Anki shows:
Here, the correct percentage should be 99.8%. Rounding this to 100% is misleading in my opinion.
